At last a perfect toaster oven  
Cuisinart TOB-195 Exact Heat Toaster Oven Broiler Stainless

Stop! Stop looking for a near perfect toaster oven. We finally found it. After five years of aggregation weve found it.
To give you ideas of some of the wasted time etc.: 1. We literally in a matter of a few weeks bought and returned two toaster ovens. Then we just settled for the least of the evils we found at Walmart. 2. It lasted about six months until it burned out and we returned it to the mfr. and received a new one. 3. The new toaster oven lasted about a year until one morning it popped and spit sparks. We actually had never really liked this unit because the controls were hard to read and the heating erratic. By the way we had carried out a great deal of research both on Consumers Reports web site and the reviews on the Amazon web site before we ever bought the first toaster oven.
Well one more time we researched toaster ovens and reluctantly decided we had to up grade to a more expen : 2010-09-16 00:05:43

I have just started using a toaster oven so Im still getting the hang of incorporating it into my everyday life. This little appliance works great! It is easy to use and doesnt take up much counter space.

I dont use it nor intend to use it for toasting bread (I have a regular toaster for that). I purchased a toaster oven so that I could still do oven cooking without heating up the entire kitchen in summertime. Where I live it is nothing for summer temperatures to exceed 100 degrees plus and this is just what I needed to accomplish the small oven tasks. The convection is a nice feature also. I have not used the broiler setting but so far this great little appliance does everything I had hoped for!

When cooking is done I find the alarm is loud enough. Some things that Ive seen people complain about are no light inside (like a regular oven) and when timer goes off the oven should turn off - these may be useful and perhaps would be options on higher-end applian : 2010-09-16 00:05:43

nice oven  
I have been using this oven for a few years now. It works great and has never given me a problem. It heats up quick and cooks evenly and quickly. The only trouble is that it is hard to clean. As long as you dont mind an oven that has that lived in look it is a great buy. : 2010-09-16 00:05:43

A great toaster but our handle broke off  
Love this toaster. Weve had ours for years. But the white plastic handle broke and we cannot find a replacement for it anywhere. So now we have to throw out a perfectly good toaster oven because we cant open it. Also Im not sure why this price is so high. We got ours years ago for under $200. Great when new but not built to last  
Cuisinart toaster ovens consistently get rave reviews because they are well designed and work great WHEN YOU FIRST GET THEM. The sad fact is that they are not built to last. After 2 years the paint around the door of our TOB-165 was burnt bubbled and cracked. Now at 3 years the plastic control membrane surface is starting to split. None of this would happen if Cuisinart had used temperature resistant materials. Maybe I am unrealistic to expect any small appliance to last more than 3 years. This oven needs to be replaced but I dont know if it is even possible to buy quality any more.
